How do you make such awesome cookies?
I use a very basic sugar cookie. I use this recipe from foodnetwork in particular because they don’t spread too much when they bake. It ends up very similar to shortbread, but still very delicious!
The pattern is stenciled on with food coloring. At the moment, I’m making the stencils out of wax paper, which isn’t very permanent. I’m trying to look into making a more durable stencil in the near future. :)
Stenciling is harder to pull off with royal icing. Example. If you want to ice cookies first, painting free hand may work better. Hope that helps! Have fun! :D
